HR INNOVATIONS, LLC,
founded in 1998 by Myrna I. Sessa, is a Human Resources Partner to the Small to Mid-sized Business Owner/Leader. The firm is available to employers, entrepreneurs, owners, executive directors and managers for ongoing management consulting and advice, policy development, preparation of HR documentation, recruiting, support regarding employee relations issues and a full range of outsourced HR administration.
Its goal is to provide superior and objective Human Resources consulting service, advice and guidance to employers who would not otherwise have access to this considerable level of experience and knowledge. The firm offers, via its experienced professional consultants, high-quality and up-to-date HR best practices. HR INNOVATIONS, LLC’s consultants work closely with small to mid-sized organizations to suggest and recommend employee policies and competitive benefits programs. They offer advice and counsel regarding employee relations issues and concerns; and educate clients regarding compliance with state and federal regulations. Its consultants offer recruiting, organizational analysis, HR auditing, investigations, group insurance evaluations and recommendations, employee surveys, day-to-day HR administration, among many other professional HR services.
Prior to launching HR INNOVATIONS, LLC in 1998, Myrna worked for 16 years in increasingly responsible corporate Finance and Human Resources positions at Great Northern Nekoosa Corporation, American Hospital Supply Corporation, NAC Re Corp. and Caradon Inc., where she rose to the level of Director, Human Resources.
Myrna's Human Resources experience crosses numerous industries, from small physician practices and family-owned businesses to hedge funds, manufacturing companies and large international corporate entities.
Her leadership and consulting experience spans all facets of Human Resources, including employee relations, benefits/compensation design and administration, policy development and implementation, legal compliance, staffing, investigations, employee communications, performance management, disciplinary actions and terminations, as well as strategic management consulting.
Myrna frequently uses her HR skills and experience to provide guidance and advice to charitable organizations, along with countless hours of volunteer work. She currently serves on the Personnel Committees of Temple Sinai, the Jewish Community Center and Jewish Family Service (all in Stamford, CT), and offers free resume assistance to college students, as well as clients of Jewish Family Service. Myrna was a member of the Leadership Development Committee of the United Jewish Federation, and served on the Campaign Cabinet of the Bennett Cancer Center of Stamford Hospital. She currently serves as Treasurer and member of the Steering Committee of the “Back to School Shop” a new community program which provides new clothes and supplies to underprivileged elementary school children. Myrna also serves on a panel for the CT Bar Association Legal Fee Dispute Resolution Program.
Myrna is frequently called upon to give speeches about HR practices in small businesses to business groups, such as CPA organizations, professional societies, trade associations, SCORE, among others. She has spoken to groups at a local outplacement firm and a national financial services company. Myrna has been quoted in and has authored articles for several national and local publications.
Myrna resides in Stamford, CT with her family.
Denise transitioned into the HR field in 1989 while employed at Great Northern Nekoosa Corporation (GNN). She held the title of Senior Tax Accountant at GNN and then transferred into Human Resources as a Benefits Analyst and shortly thereafter became Supervisor of Employee Benefits. Denise then held positions with United States Surgical Corporation as Manager of Employee Benefits and Rayonier, Inc. as Manager of Human Resources. Denise has been employed as an independent Human Resources/Benefits Consultant since May 2000.
Denise’s Human Resources experience has been with small, mid-size and Fortune 500 corporations. As an accomplished professional, she brings solid experience in all facets of HR administration, benefits plan evaluation and implementation (including health/welfare, 401(k) and defined benefit pension plans), providing annual health/ welfare benefit plan rate renewal analysis and recommendations, 401(k) and Defined Benefit Plan year-end compliance, new employee onboarding, terminations, employee communications, HR policies and procedures, employee handbooks, performance management, employee relations, FMLA, COBRA, HRIS, payroll, recruiting and several other HR related functions and issues.
Denise is PeopleSoft Certified (HR and Benefits) and a member of SHRM.
Karen is a 15-year Human Resources veteran in the financial services, high tech manufacturing and non-profit industries. She has held Human Resources positions at Lehman Brothers, American Express and General Instrument, focusing on Compensation and HR Generalist functions. She has also consulted to non-profit organizations. Most recently, Karen was Human Resources Director at Starwood Capital Group, a worldwide real estate private equity firm, where she was responsible for functions including compensation, benefits, HR information systems and payroll, staffing, international human resources and employee relations. Karen is a member of the Society for Human Resource Management.
Karen resides in Chappaqua, NY with her husband and three children.
Prior to joining HR INNOVATIONS, Pamela had over twenty years of Human Resources experience in the Financial Services industry, having held Human Resources positions at Citigroup, Lehman Brothers and Transamerica. Pamela has also held various consulting roles for Citigroup and Starwood Capital. In addition to senior positions as an HR Generalist and in Employee Relations, Pamela has managed staffing functions, formulated and directed management development programs, designed and implemented training programs for recruiting, diversity, compensation and orientation, and redesigned and implemented succession planning and performance management initiatives. Pamela has also served as a Career Coach for people ranging from seasoned executives to those seeking to enter the workforce. She has also provided Human Resources services for non-profit organizations.
Pamela resides with her family in Westchester County, NY.
